    After watching a series of Youtube reviews I decided to buy one of these wood pellet ovens from Ooni. Matt from Safe Home Fireplace ensured timely delivery and post sale support was great. Assembly and setup was simple, following the instructions. I purchased a bag of hardwood pellets from CT as fuel(ensuring they contain no harmful binders). Fired it up following the instructions and the oven reached its working temperature in less that 15 min. Actually it exceeded 1000F and I kind of charred the first pizza even if I rotate it after 25 sec. It took me three attempts while adjusting the air damper that is integral in the exhaust chimney to get it in the right temperature range. After all tuned in I was able to produce excellent results in about 60 sec.
    Pro’s:
    – Ultra light and small footprint, can be stored easily when not in use
    – living up to its advertised promises, producing great Neapolitan style pizzas with excellent wood fired oven taste
    – fast to “recover” to the baking temperature, basically by the time you prepare the next pizza the oven is ready
    Con’s:
    – not as intuitive and easy to “throttle” like a gas or electric powered oven, takes a bit of experimentation to get it and maintain it at the right temperature
    – this could be due to the nature of the fuel, however on mine, after using it for about 10 pizzas, I noticed a heavy buildup of soot inside the chimney, on the lid and oven walls
    – difficult to clean the stone of charred flower in between pizzas due to the shallow construction, you either wait until cooled down or get a small wire brush to push the chars away
    – have to move fast loading and unloading pizzas as by removing the lid you loose the draft created by the chimney effect and the fire starts to creep up inside the pellets hopper.
    Would I recommend others to purchase it, Yes I would. For me it was an excellent addition to my outdoor cooking devices helping to avoid the mess of baking indoors (with the temperature limitations of a regular gas oven and the crowded space) Kudos to Kristian Tapaninaho from Ooni for bringing such great product to the market.
